The Thrangu Phende Clinic recently expanded, and now finds itself needing funds to replenish its medical supplies and medicines. We have set up a fundraising goal of $5,000.00 CAD to help the Clinic with this urgent need.

The Thrangu Phende Clinic is located at Thrangu Monastery in Namo Buddha, Nepal. The Clinic provides much needed health care to the resident monks and visitors at the monastery, as well as to some 3,000 villagers who live nearby. The Clinic organizes eye camps and dental camps in the monastery and nearby villages twice a year. It also offers ambulance service to the community. And since the start of the pandemic, the Clinic has played an integral role in Covid education and response.

Villagers pay a small registration fee, but all other services at the Clinic are free. The Clinic provides basic treatment for conditions such as skin diseases, burns, infections, diarrhea, and allergies. These conditions could become debilitating or fatal if left untreated. The Clinic also has a small on-site pharmacy, which dispenses medicine to patients free of charge.

The current Clinic staff includes: 2 Nepali doctors (Western medicine); 4 Tibetan medicine practitioners, who are monks; 2 acupuncturists; 2 pharmacy staff; 1 lab technician; and 1 general helper.

The Clinic has monthly operational expenses of $1,800.00 USD. These expenses include the purchase of medicines and medical supplies ($600.00 USD), salaries for the Clinic staff ($1,000.00), and about $200.00 USD in miscellaneous expenses. We do have regular donors to the Clinic, which helps to meet these ongoing operational expenses and we would like to thank them for their ongoing support.

We would like to raise $5,000.00 CAD by the end of October 2021, to help the Clinic offset the cost of restocking their medical supplies and pharmacy. By making a donation to support the Clinic, you can help us to continue to provide essential medical help to the local villagers as well as the monks at the monastery.
