Pandemic Relief Efforts

Writer: NBF CanadaNBF Canada

Choje Lama Wangchuk Topden & Acharya Pasang Wangdu, two distinguished monks of Thrangu Monastery, and associates have distributed free meals and water to about 600 people in Boudha, Pashutpati & Arubari areas of Nepal. They ran the ‘food distribution project’ for a month from June 15 to July 14 2021. Many Nepali daily wage workers like porters and service industry workers are going hungry due to multiple lockdowns in Kathmandu. They were not only out of work but lack any financial support from government or other agencies. Hence, this project from our monks helped a lot of people eat at least once a day and stay hydrated in the 30°C summer heat.
