News from VVI and Namo Buddha

127 Shedra monks have recently completed their 6th month exams. It is a rigorous process, which involves several days of written exams and debates.

100 shedra monks are at Vajra Vidya Institute and 27 shedra monks are at Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery. Due to the lockdown in Nepal and India, 5 monks were unable to return for examination and will have to wait until travel is safely permitted again. Photos courtesy of Khenpo Gendun.

Young Monks at VVI Receive New Robes

In July it was time for the young monks at Vajra Vidya Institute to receive new robes. Khenpo Tashi, Khenpo Chogyal and other staff distributed the clothing on the veranda and while admission numbers were being written on collars, it seems the boxes provided some entertainment!
