New Academic Session of 2025
The new academic year at Shree Mangal Dvip School (SMD) for students from Nursery through Grade 10 officially began on April 30, but please note that Grades 11 and 12 follow a separate schedule as mandated by the government.
We are pleased to see our students settling in smoothly, welcoming new classmates, and reconnecting with friends. At SMD, we place great value on community, and it is heartwarming to see our new students already forming meaningful connections - with senior students offering support and friendship like family.
Following are some of the photos from the day of new student registration at SMD:
This year, we are honoured to welcome 71 new students ( 51 boarders and 20 day scholars) into our SMD family. We also begin this year with 88 unsponsored children, a significant increase from 17 unsponsored boarders last year. Your support can make an incredible difference in their lives.
As we welcome our new students for the 2025-26 academic year, nearly 90 children are still in need of sponsorship. Would you like to make a difference in a child’s life? Write to us at info@nbfcanada@gmail.com to learn how you can help. Your sponsorship does more than cover school supplies or meals – it offers hope, opportunity, and the tools for a brighter future.
SMD Alumni Giving Back to the Community
Two graduates from SMD and passionate marathoners are running 40 km to support their schoolmates at SMD. Their campaign helps Susmita and Tsering Dolkar, overseas alumni who are both doing high school in West Coast of Canada on generous high school scholarship, to fly back to Nepal.
Some remarks from the boys:
"It was here that I first discovered my love for running. All SMD family encouraged and believed in me, and my school provided me with the resources and platform to pursue my dreams. Now, as a marathon winner, I want to use my talent to give back to the place that gave me so much." - Choegyal (pictured on the left)
"This 40 km run is our way of saying thank you. But more than that, it's about creating opportunities for others. We want to influence our fellow SMDers to discover their passions, chase their dreams, and achieve greatness." - Ukesh (pictured on the right)
Chungda Ghale (pictured below, with the sunglasses), one of the graduates from SMD returned to SMD with a heart full of generosity. She sponsored all the meals and juice for breakfast, lunch, teatime, and supper on the second day of Losar - ensuring that the students enjoyed warm and nourishing meals during the festive period. She also brought sports equipment, giving students more opportunities to play and stay active during the holiday.
Annual Sports Meet at SMD, 2025
Before parting on January 18th for winter break, SMD students enjoyed two exciting days of sports, entertainment and recreation. Pre-sports day, full of fun and games, followed by Sports Day. Each of the competing house had a "March Pass" accompanied by the school band, the Karate Class performed and the music teacher wrote a lovely song and performed with the students.
