Thrangu Rinpoche's Parinirvana

The following video, paying tribute to the Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, was produced by Buddhistdoor Tea House in collaboration with Thrangu Media. This video beautifully captures and summarizes the life of Thrangu Rinpoche through Choje Lama Wangchuk's narration.

September 12th marked the 100th day after the parinirvana of Thrangu Rinpoche. The following pictures were taken during the event at the Swayambhunath Stupa. Monastic and lay devotees offered prayers for Rinpoche's swift return.

Monastic and lay practitioners gathered at the Namo Buddha Stupa to recite Guru Yoga and Calling the Lama from Afar on the 50th day after the Parinirvana of Thrangu Rinpoche.

On July 6th, 2023, the blessing of a full rainbow mandala, circling the sun, appeared above Thrangu Rinpoche's residence in Namo Buddha.

Moments from the main shrine pujas for Thrangu Rinpoche and a view of his recently completed statue made under the direction of Khenpo Lhaibu.

At Namo Buddha, a rotating 15-day schedule was created in order to continue prayers before Thrangu Rinpoche's Kudung (sacred remains). Turn by turn, various Lamas, Khenpos, retreat and shedra monks and nuns keep the prayers going both night and day. Though not in the photo, Tulku Damcho is leading this group of retreat nuns.
